APEX Subsea Image Scaling Laser Module
The APEX range of subsea laser modules were specifically designed to improve measurement precision and minimise the technical complexity of creating a small cluster of parallel laser beams for use in underwater image scaling applications. Multiple laser beams are robotically-aligned within a single pressure housing, creating a cruciform or box-form output.
APEX underwater laser modules deliver an inherently improved form of laser projection; providing optimum beam alignment and eliminating intra-beam wandering that otherwise occurs when using multiple single laser modules on a framework. APEX provides an intuitive indication of scale or millimeter-resolution measurements when used with Savante cameras, strobes and flash-lamps.
APEX blue-green lasers are highly visible over long distances in seawater due to minimal attenuation and are essential for enhancing vision in turbid waters; the contrast-reducing effects of light scattering can be significantly reduced. Red laser alternatives are also available for operations in shallow water or strong ambient lighting.
